In 2015, we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Kingsport Area Safety Council. On this site you will find links to who we are, our Mission and Vision, our Board of Directors, annual events that are sponsored by our organization, and other projects that we have supported. KASC provides a great opportunity for networking and promoting safety throughout our region. In 2012, we were awarded the International Safe Communities of America Award through the National Safety Council, highlighting the successful relationship we have forged with area businesses, organizations, and individual members. We welcome your support of KASC.

Calendar of Events

The latest Board of Directors Meeting was held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Eastman Contractor Training Center in Kingsport. The next Board meeting will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the same location. Announcements will be mailed to Board Members.

The latest Community Safety Awareness Meeting was held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Picadilly Restaurant in Kingsport. Mark Moody with the Sullivan County Health Department gave a presentation on the Vika Virus that was focused on health care workers, first responders, and the general public. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 21 at Borden Park in Kingsport. Lucy Fleming and company will give a presentation on the upcoming Kingsport Fun Fest.

The Annual Kids Safety Fair was held at the Eastman Toy F. Reid Employee Center on Tuesday, May 10. KASC supports the Eastman Contractors Safety Partnership in providing safety training to approximately 400 children from local elementary schools.

The 31st Annual KASC Safety Seminar was held at the Eastman Toy F. Reid Employee Center on Wednesday, May 11. Over 400 attendees attended this year's event. Thanks to all who worked so dilligently to make this event successful. Also thanks to our vendors and door prize sponsors. This year's recipient of the $1,500.00 Junior Godsey Memorial Grant was Elk Mills POGA VFD.

On Monday, May 16 KASC provided 10 CO/Smoke Detectors, 30 dual sensor Smoke Detectors and 10 fire extinguishers to the Habitat for Humanity Office in Kingsport. This equipment will be utilized in habitat project houses during the 2016 summer season.

The Annual Halloween Treat Bag Stuffing was held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Eastman Contractor's Safety facility. 1,000 bags were stuffed and distributed to local schools and churches. Special thanks to the Junior Achievement of Kingsport and KASC partners. See photos here.

The Annual Awards and Recognition Banquet was held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Domtar Cabin. This year's program was a celebration of this year's events and our 70th Anniversary. The new slate of officers for 2015-2016 was presented and approved. Special music was also provided. See event photos or Review the 2015 Slide Show

KASC/ Eastman Contractor's Safety Partnership make donation to Hardee's in June 2015

On Thursday, May 21, 2015, KASC donated equipment to the Habitat for Humanity in Colonial Heights for their home building projects throughout this summer.

On Thursday, May 21, 2015, the Kingsport Area Safety Council hosted a picnic at the Eastman Cabins in Kingsport in celebration of our 70th Year Anniversary of the estabishment of our council. We also celebrated the 30th Annual Safety Seminar that was held on Wednesday, May 13th at the Eastman Toy F. Reid Center in Kingsport. Special thanks to Angel Vicars for coordinating and preparing the meal.

The 2015 Kids Safety Fair was held at the Eastman Toy F. Reid Employee Center on Tuesday, May 12th. Several hundred fourth graders from area elementary schools attended a day of safety training sessions that highlighted safety issues related to their age group. KASC and other vendors provided booths for the students to attend throughout the day. See photos on the Kids Safety Fair page.

On behalf of the KASC Christmas Benevolence Program, Tommy Hughes of Kingsport City Services presented a check to the Children's Advocacy Center. Apostolic Lighthouse also teamed up with KASC to provide a luncheon for the Salvation Army. More projects were completed prior to Christmas.

Halloween Treat Bag Giveaway

On Wednesday, October 22, 2014, several KASC members stuffed 1,000 Halloween treat bags that were distributed to local youth for promoting safety. Several companies provided candy and toys for use in this project.

2014 Annual Recognition and Awards Banquet

The 2014 Annual Awards/Recognition Banquet and election of Officers/Board Members was held on Thursday, September 25 at Domtar Cabin in Kingsport. Special thanks to Brenda Lowder, Pearl Dotson, and Past Presidents and our corporate sponsors for you efforts and support. See KASC Awards.

The 2014 Fun Fest Dick Bailey Fire Safety Rodeo was held on Saturday, July 12. Piney Flats VFD was the Overall Champion. See link to left for more information.

The Fall Accident Avoidance Workshops were held at Bristol Motor Speedway. KASC is a sponsor of these events, providing four grants to promote participation. "Homer" Stillwell has conducted this exceptional drivers training course in our area for several years, resulting in exceptional testimonials from participants and parents.
